electric Heart
This work takes the form of an abstract heart, a symbol chosen to reflect the cultural vitality of the surrounding community. Its colors are drawn from the palettes found in the traditional textiles of the neighborhood’s predominant ethnic groups: Thai, Cambodian, West African, and Venezuelan. Each of these cultures carries its own distinct visual language, expressed through fabrics, dyes, and patterns that embody heritage, identity, and collective memory. They are then blended and recomposed into a cohesive palette, allowing the heart to function as a unified visual emblem. The resulting composition serves as a tribute to the neighborhood’s multicultural fabric.
