Inspired by its setting on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, Jazz on the Mile is an abstract composition shaped by movement, texture, and rhythm. The mural draws from the city’s energy and history, unfolding like free jazz, improvisational, layered, and alive. Stars from the Chicago flag surface and recede within the composition, while long, gestural spray paint strokes establish a loose, expressive tempo. Commissioned by Nordstrom, the work celebrates Chicago through abstraction, capturing the city’s pulse rather than its literal form.
